AuraCard - Business Card Scanner

1. Information We Collect

For Business Card Scanning:

• Business card images are temporarily sent to Google Cloud Vision for text extraction
• Images are processed in real-time and immediately deleted by Google
• Google does not store or use your images for any other purpose
• Extracted contact information is stored only on your device
• We (AuraCard) never see, store, or access your scanned data

For Digital Business Cards (Optional):

• If you create a digital card, your profile data (name, contact info, photo) is stored in Firebase
• You control what information to include on your digital card
• Your card is accessible via a unique URL (https://auracard.net/your-id)
• Profile photos are stored in Firebase Storage with 2MB size limit
• You can delete your profile at any time
• No tracking or analytics by default

2. How AuraCard Works

AuraCard provides accurate business card scanning through:

• Capture business cards using your device camera
• Send image to Google Cloud Vision API for text extraction (requires internet)
• Receive extracted text and parse contact information locally
• Save contacts to your device's native Contacts app

Important: An internet connection is required for scanning. Images are transmitted securely via HTTPS and processed in real-time.

3. Permissions

AuraCard requests the following permissions:

• Camera: To scan business cards
• Photo Library: To import business card images or upload your profile photo
• Contacts: To save scanned contacts to your device

These permissions are only used for their stated purposes and never to collect or transmit data without your consent.

4. Optional Analytics

AuraCard includes an opt-in analytics feature that is disabled by default. If you choose to enable it in Settings:

• Only anonymous usage data is collected (screen views, feature usage)
• No personal information, contact data, or scanned text is ever collected
• Data is used solely to improve the app experience
• You can disable analytics at any time in Settings

5. Third-Party Services

AuraCard uses the following services:

• Google Cloud Vision API: Industry-leading text recognition for accurate contact extraction. Images are processed in real-time and immediately deleted. See Google's data usage policy.
• Firebase Authentication: Used for secure sign-in with Google or Apple (optional, only for digital card feature)
• Firebase Firestore: Stores your digital business card profile (optional, only if you create a digital card)
• Firebase Storage: Stores your profile photo (optional, only if you upload one)
• Firebase Analytics (Optional): Only used for anonymous analytics if you opt-in

Google Cloud Vision Data Usage: Google processes images to extract text but does not retain, store, or use images to improve their services without explicit permission.

6. Data Storage

On Your Device:

• Your app settings (language, theme, country code)
• Onboarding completion status
• Scanned contacts (saved to your device's native Contacts app)

In Firebase (Optional - Digital Card Only):

• Your profile information (name, title, company, contact details)
• Your profile photo (if uploaded)
• Social media links (if provided)
• QR code short URL

Business card scan data is NEVER stored in the cloud. Only your own digital business card profile is stored in Firebase if you choose to create one.

7. Children's Privacy

AuraCard does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
